Great seeing you here.
Let’s not wait anymore and get your blog up and running.
How to install your first WordPress blog in Hostgator?
Most people would say you can get your blog up and running within a few minutes. I won’t disagree.
But I believe that is not the right way to do anything. You should never rush into anything and do whatever you’ve been told, not knowing what you did exactly.
So, I suggest you take hours to get your blog to set up, if needed take the whole day, even the whole week, but don’t just follow whatever I am telling you to do, understand it.
You’re about to get into a new relationship, so just like any relationship, know it inside and out. That will come in handy in the long run.
Of course, it’s gonna take time. But if it’s important to you then what’s the rush?
Take your time to understand what you’re doing, that doesn’t mean you get too technical with it and screw your head, it means if in the future you come across some minor issues with the blog you will have a broader scope to troubleshoot the problem.
How to install WordPress in Hostgator?
just read the steps carefully and follow the red marks:
Step 1: – Log in to your Hostgator account and scroll down to “Software and Services”.
Click on QuickInstall
Step 2: – On the next page you should see a screen something like the screenshot below; there will be some other applications too available to you.
Just ignore them all; click on “Install WordPress”
Step 3: – Next click on “Install WordPress”.
And if you’re still wondering what WordPress is? Then read the definition of “What’s WordPress?” on the left side to the button that says, “Install WordPress”.
Step 4: – Fill out the form on the next page.
From the drop-down select your domain name.
· Keep the install path blank.
· Type in the Email ID where you want to receive admin notifications related to your blog.
· Give your blog a name; I am sure you have already decided what your blog name would be, yet in case you haven’t, just keep whatever you like, you can change it later.
· Now while choosing your username, don’t just keep “admin” as it is easy for anyone to guess. And you’re also not allowed to use characters like, “-”, “@”, “#”, “$”, “%”, “^”, “&”, “*”, “(”, “)” or the so-called symbols. Refer the screenshot below.
Use your creativity and mix it up with some numbers and make it something non-guessable easily and yet easy to remember.
Once you all set, click on the green button that says, “Install WordPress”
Step 5:- “Your install is complete” If you have set up everything properly so far then you should see this message and the skin as below:
In case not seeing it then, just start over and make sure you didn’t miss anything.
If you navigate down a bit you will see some themes are listed below; ignore them and click on “View Credentials” on the right and follow the link that says, “http://yourdomainname.com/wp-admin”.
Use the username and password as given below the link to login.
